Links and what they suit
- Cable — the most versatile, holds a pendant well
- Rolo — round links, looks fuller at the same thickness
- Curb — flat links, a stronger character, catches light nicely
- Foxtail — dense and soft, drapes like a cord
Thickness and length
A small pendant needs only 0.8 to 1.2 mm. A heavier one wants at least 1.5 mm, otherwise the chain keeps twisting. A 40 cm chain ends above the neckline, 45 cm just below it, and 50 cm reaches the bustline.
