Silver tarnishes by nature, especially worn against skin. Platinum plating slows that down, so the chain keeps looking the way it did on day one. For men's jewellery worn daily, that is a real difference.

Links and thicknesses

Curb and figaro look sharper in platinum plating than in gold, because the cool metal picks out the edges of each link more strongly. Cable and box links give a quieter line. Thicknesses run from 2 to 6 mm, lengths 50, 55 and 60 cm.

What to wear it with

Cool silver holds together with a steel watch, cufflinks and a bracelet in the same tone. Mixing with gold rarely lands well in menswear, so it is safer to stay with one metal colour.

Pendants

A cross, an engraved tag, a dog tag. Heavier pendants need a chain of 3 mm or more.
